Overview
BurHor Group delivered specialist horticultural, arboricultural and open space management services at the National Arboretum Canberra — one of Australia’s premier botanical landscapes and a nationally recognised destination featuring rare, endangered and significant tree collections.
Services included tree planting and establishment, advanced arboricultural works, tree health assessments, structural pruning to AS4373, tree risk assessments, turf management, irrigation maintenance, garden bed maintenance, environmental weed management, soil improvement, fertiliser programs and ongoing landscape maintenance.
Outcomes/Benefits
BurHor’s integrated approach ensured the long-term preservation of valuable tree collections and landscape assets while maintaining the exceptional presentation standards expected of one of Australia’s most significant botanical assets. GIS asset management and the TRAK Job Management System supported programmed maintenance, condition monitoring and performance reporting — providing accurate asset information that improved maintenance planning and supported conservation outcomes.
The Arboretum continued to provide an outstanding environment for visitors, education, conservation and community enjoyment throughout the contract period.
